Privacy Policy

Harmony (“we”, “us”) is a household management app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Harmony you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
We collect only what’s needed to run your household workspace:
- Account information — your email address and display name, used to sign you in and identify you to your housemates.
- Household content you create — tasks, shopping and pantry items, meal plans and recipes, calendar events and birthdays, expenses, chat messages (including any voice notes or photos you send), receipt photos or PDFs and the items read from them, family documents you upload, and items you store in the secure vault.
- Kid profiles — a parent or guardian can add a child’s first name, birthday and PIN so the child can tick off chores on a family device. Children don’t have their own accounts or email addresses.
- Location (optional) — only when you choose to add it to a check-in. It is rounded to about 100 metres and shown only to your household. Harmony never tracks your location in the background.
- Subscription records — if you subscribe to Harmony Plus, Google Play takes the payment. We store the plan, its status and renewal date, and Google’s purchase reference, so Plus can be switched on.
- Notification and calendar settings — if you turn on notifications, your device gives us a push address used only to send your reminders. If you link an outside calendar, we store its address so its events can sync.
- Basic technical data — standard request logs (such as IP address and device/browser type) generated by our hosting providers to keep the service secure and reliable, and your country (worked out from your IP address) to suggest dishes popular where you live.
We do not see your card or bank details, we do not show ads, and we never sell your data.
How we use your information
- To provide the app’s features — syncing tasks, lists, meals, chat, and notifications across your household in real time.
- To power AI features you trigger — scanning receipts, importing dates from letters and emails, suggesting chores from a room photo, and generating meal ideas and recipes.
- To check and manage Harmony Plus subscriptions with Google Play.
- To keep the service secure, debug problems, and prevent abuse.
Sharing within your household
Harmony is collaborative. Content you add to a household (tasks, lists, meals, events, chat, receipts, expenses, documents, check-ins and vault items) is visible to the other members of that same household. It is not visible to users in other households — access is enforced at the database level.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted providers to operate the app. Data is shared with them only to deliver the service:
- Supabase — hosts our database and authentication; your account and household data are stored here.
- Vercel — hosts and serves the application.
- OpenRouter / Anthropic (Claude) — when you use an AI feature (receipt scanning, date import, room scan or meal ideas), the relevant image or text is sent to this AI provider to generate the result.
- Google Play — takes Harmony Plus payments and tells us whether a subscription is active.
- Your device’s push service — such as Google’s or Mozilla’s; it delivers the notifications you turned on.
- Unsplash — when showing a dish photo, the dish name is sent to Unsplash’s image search to fetch a matching stock photo.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and its data at any time in the app (Household → Danger Zone → Delete my account), as described on our account deletion page, or by emailing support@harmonyhousehold.app.
On the free plan, scanned receipts are kept for 2 years and then deleted automatically. With Harmony Plus, receipts, their photos and your documents are kept until you delete them. You can delete any receipt or document yourself at any time, and nothing is deleted when a plan ends.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and protected by row-level security so members can only access their own household’s data. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
Harmony is for adults running a household and is not directed to children. Parents and guardians can add kid profiles for their own children; children never create accounts or give us an email address, and a parent can edit or delete a kid profile at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@harmonyhousehold.app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
